Steam wand
Purge and wipe the wand immediately and keep the steam tip clear.
Shower area & baskets
Brush/rinse accessible coffee-contact surfaces and clear basket holes.
Descaling
Use the exact Dedica descaling sequence and complete the full rinse.

After brewing
Keep the group, basket and portafilter free of stale coffee.
Physical cleaning is the main coffee-side maintenance routine on Dedica.
Remove the puck
Discard spent coffee promptly after brewing.
Rinse the basket
Clear grounds and keep basket holes open.
Run a short group rinse
Flush loose coffee from the shower area.
Wipe and dry
Keep the portafilter and accessible group area clean between sessions.
Milk hygiene
Purge and wipe the Dedica steam system after milk.
Milk residue is much easier to remove before it dries.
Purge before milk
Run a short purge before texturing milk.
Wipe immediately
Wipe the wand with a clean damp cloth while milk residue is still soft.
Allow the purge
Where the machine has automatic purging, return the wand to its normal position and let the purge finish.
Clear the tip when needed
Use the supplied cleaning tool or the exact Sage cleaning method if the steam holes become restricted.
Mineral scale care
Use the Dedica-specific descale sequence.
Dedica controls vary by generation (for example EC685 / Arte variants), so match the exact model before starting.
Identify the model variant
Check the model number before choosing the descale control sequence.
Prepare the descaling solution
Use the correct dose and water volume for the model.
Run the programme through the required outlets
Follow the De’Longhi sequence rather than a generic espresso-machine descale.
Complete the fresh-water rinse
Rinse the tank and flush the machine thoroughly before making coffee again.
