Milk system
Allow automatic milk cleaning to run and clean removable milk-contact parts as required.
Brewing unit
Remove and rinse the brewing unit with warm water; do not use detergent on it.
Cleaning / Calc’nClean
Run the prompted service programme and follow the display sequence.
Water filter
Replace the compatible filter and keep the water-hardness setting accurate.

Daily hygiene
Keep water, trays and residue under control.
The automatic programmes handle the internal cycle, but daily physical hygiene still matters.
Refresh the water
Use fresh water in the tank and keep the tank itself clean rather than repeatedly topping up old water.
Empty the drip tray and grounds container
Empty and rinse both regularly so moisture and coffee residue do not accumulate inside the machine.
Let automatic rinses finish
Do not interrupt the machine while it is completing a normal rinse or service-programme stage.
Removable brewing unit
Rinse the brewing unit separately.
Unlike JURA, Siemens bean-to-cup machines use a removable brewing unit on these families. Siemens guidance for current machines such as EQ700 is warm water and a gentle brush — no detergent or acid.
Switch off and open the service door
Follow the access sequence for your exact Siemens model before removing the brewing unit.
Remove the brewing unit
Release it using the model-specific latch or handle without forcing the mechanism.
Rinse with warm water
Use warm water and a gentle brush where needed. Do not use washing-up liquid, detergent, vinegar or acid on the brewing unit.
Allow it to drain
Shake off excess water and allow the unit to drain before refitting it.
Reinstall and lock it
Return the unit fully to position and close the service door before switching the machine back on.
Do not put the brewing unit in a dishwasher unless the exact Siemens manual explicitly permits it.
Combined service programme
Cleaning and descaling are separate jobs — Calc’nClean can combine them.
When both are due, supported Siemens machines can offer Calc’nClean. The display controls the order and tells you when to add the cleaning tablet and descaling solution.
Run the programme when prompted
Siemens determines service timing from use, water hardness and machine status. Do not substitute a fixed calendar for the machine prompt.
Clean the brewing unit first
On families such as EQ500, Siemens says the brewing unit should be clean before the Calc’nClean programme is run.
Add the cleaning tablet where instructed
Use the machine’s tablet compartment or grounds compartment at the point requested by the display; never drop a cleaning tablet into the water tank.
Remove the water filter if instructed
The programme can ask for a fitted filter to be removed before the descaling phase.
Prepare the descaling solution
Dissolve the correct descaling dose in the amount of warm water specified by the machine programme.
Complete every rinse stage
Refill with fresh water when instructed and let the entire programme finish before returning to normal use.
Milk-system hygiene
Automatic milk rinsing is helpful, but it is not the whole job.
Milk-equipped Siemens machines use automatic rinsing on many current families, but removable milk-contact components and deeper cleaning still need attention.
Use the automatic milk rinse
Where AutoMilk Clean is fitted, allow the steam-cleaning burst after milk drinks to complete.
Run deeper milk cleaning when requested
Automatic steam rinsing does not replace the machine’s deeper milk-system cleaning routine.
Clean removable milk-contact parts
Rinse and clean the milk hose, container, adapter and outlet parts according to the exact machine instructions.

Current Siemens service guidance uses INTENZA filtration across multiple EQ families. The machine’s hardness setting and active filter status affect when descaling is requested.
