Group head & portafilter
Flush the group head and rinse coffee-contact parts.
Cleaning cycle
Run the touchscreen coffee-oil cleaning cycle with the cleaning disc and tablet.
Grinder
Dry-brush loose grounds from the removable burr area.
Water filter
Replace the fitted Sage filter on schedule.
Descaling
Run the touchscreen Descale Cycle and complete the rinse.

Coffee-oil cleaning
Run the Barista Touch cleaning cycle.
The touchscreen cleaning cycle backflushes the coffee path and is separate from descaling.
Fit the cleaning disc
Insert the 1 CUP filter basket and supplied cleaning disc into the portafilter.
Add one cleaning tablet
Place one backflush cleaning tablet in the cleaning disc.
Lock in the portafilter
Lock the portafilter into the group head and position a suitable container below.
Start Cleaning Cycle
When prompted, select the Cleaning Cycle on the touchscreen and follow the on-screen instructions.
Let the programme finish
Allow the cleaning programme to complete without interruption.
Rinse
Remove the cleaning disc and rinse the portafilter and brew head with fresh water.
Mineral scale care
Descale the Barista Touch.
Use the touchscreen Descale Cycle rather than a generic button sequence.
Remove the water tank
Remove and empty the water tank.
Remove the water filter
Take out the fitted water filter before adding descaling solution.
Prepare the descaler
Prepare the descaling solution according to its dosing instructions and fill the tank.
Prepare the machine
Refit the tank and place a suitable collection container beneath the outlets.
Open Settings
Open the Settings menu on the Barista Touch touchscreen.
Select Descale Cycle
Select Descale Cycle and follow the on-screen instructions until the programme completes.
Fresh-water rinse
Complete the requested fresh-water rinse, then refit or replace the filter.
Water filtration
Replace the Barista Touch water filter.
Keep the fitted filter on its replacement interval and record the installation date.
Remove the used filter
Lift the used filter from the tank or holder without forcing the connection.
Prepare the replacement
Prime the replacement filter according to its instructions before fitting it.
Refit securely
Install the prepared filter and refill the tank with fresh water.
Track the next change
Record the installation date or use the holder reminder so the next replacement is not missed.
Milk-system care
Keep the Barista Touch steam wand clean.
Routine wiping and purging helps protect steam performance and milk quality.
Purge after milk use
Purge the steam wand briefly after steaming.
Wipe immediately
Use a clean damp cloth to remove milk before it dries.
Purge again
Clear any residue from inside the steam tip.

Integrated grinder
Keep the grinder chamber clear of old grounds.
Use dry cleaning around the removable burrs; do not introduce water into the grinder.
Empty the hopper
Remove beans before opening the grinder.
Remove the upper burr
Unlock the hopper and lift out the removable upper burr.
Brush away grounds
Dry-brush loose grounds and coffee residue from the burr and chamber.
Reassemble
Refit the upper burr and hopper securely.
